     In contrast to the Cemetery records used here, The Workman Family History says Sam died in the Civil War and that pension records indicate he was only 16 years old at the time of death. He enlisted, August 13, 1861, in Co. B, 30th IL Infantry and died in Cairo, IL, of Typhoid fever.
