     According to "Early Settlers," David served in the 4th Illinois Infantry from June 1846 to June 1847. He died after returning, from a disease contracted in the Army.

     According to the "Early Settlers," John enlisted August 9, 1862 in Co. B, 30th Illinois Inf. and served 3 years; was under fire at Vicksburg, was with Sherman on his march to the sea and was honorably discharged in June 1865.

Individual Note:
     According to the "Early Settlers," he was taken by his parents to Cabell Co, WV, and served as a soldier from that county from Sept. 1813 to April 1814. He arrived in Sangamon County during the fall of 1826 with his wife and three children.

Individual Note:
     According to the "Early Settlers," arrived in the fall of 1826 in Loami Twp., IL and moved to Buffalo Hart Grove in 1829, but moved back to the same Loami farm in 1831. He was a soldier from Kentucky in the War of 1812 and was taken prisoner at the Battle of River Raisin.
