Individual Note: In 1785 Christopher was living in Amelia County next to his widowed mother-in-law, Ann (Jennings) Thompson. He was head of a household of five whites. That same year, Christopher and his wife sold their 162˝ acres [Amelia County Deed Book 17, page 286] to Millinton Roach.
Christopher and his family later moved to Pittsylvania County, Virginia, and lived on Sandy Creek near Mt. Herman. Christopher and “Milly” were the parents of fourteen children. Of these fourteen, remarkably all but three were born within the three months between 12 January and 5 April of their year of birth. Christopher died in 1833 in Pittsylvania County. [Meet Your Ancestors (Bowling), page 191]
According to one source, "This Christopher Robertson is the brother of Edward Robertson who came to Pittsylvania County from Amelia. This Edward Robertson married Mary Pulliam Thompson, sister of Mildred (Milly) Thompson on Feb. 1782. He showed up buying land in 1786 in Pittsylvania County, Va., on the north slope of White Oak Mountain and west of the Chatham-Danville Road. Old Robertson home was opposite on east side of Rte. 29, present home of Ben Taylor in1963, near Dry Fork, Va. "
